Web / UX / UI / Designer

Job description

Prodigi Group is a technology and manufacturing business specialising in the creation and fulfilment of high-volume, customised products.

We help companies to sell personalised products, and we’re creating a platform that allows anyone to turn any digital image into any physical product, manufactured anywhere in the world.

2018 has been a big year for us with international expansion, and many significant new clients.

We’re now looking for a talented visual designer to help to evolve our company’s identity, and create aesthetics that will set us apart in the industry.

Requirements

Your role

As the primary designer at Prodigi, you will work with product owners and web development teams on a wide range of new and existing web-based projects.

We are a small but growing team, and as such you will have the opportunity to be involved at all levels of these projects, from defining the corporate design direction right through to creating individual web page elements:

  • Branding
  • Overall product visual design
  • Design language/styleguides
  • Page layouts and wireframing
  • Micro-interactions and icons

We create products for both in-house use and external clients, and so you will expected to understand the challenges and requirements of each and produce user-appropriate designs.

Although you will be primarily working on web-based applications, there will be occasional opportunities to work on more traditional print-based products.

Our ideal candidate

Great visual and UX design skills are by far the most important thing to us.

You should be comfortable articulating your ideas and collaborating at all organisational levels, potentially with external stakeholders. You will have a lot of autonomy within the context of each project; be happy using your own initiative and prioritising your own tasks.

We’d love to see examples of your previous work and why you are particularly proud of them. In addition, an ability to demonstrate an appreciation of the following technical areas would be welcome:

  • responsive design;
  • the non-static nature of web applications, such as appropriate use of animation and interactions;
  • key usability principles and user-focused processes.;
  • the technical considerations of converting a visual design into code. Any experience of creating HTML/CSS/JS, either for mock-ups or even as final deliverables, is welcome but not essential.

You will be free to choose your own software, be that Sketch, Photoshop, Illustrator…whatever you need to do your best work.

We offer

  • Salary £40,000 - £50,000 depending on experience.
  • Competitive salary and a great work-life balance - you will have 25 days holiday per year, flexible hours, flexible working location.
  • Informal, bright office in central Cardiff.
  • We believe in equal opportunity and value diversity. We believe that varied perspectives, experiences and backgrounds lead to a workplace that's better for everyone.
