Job description


To Provide autonomous control of the Warehouse. Ensuring all daily production requirements and quality standards are achieved in line with business requirements. To continuously work to improve efficiencies and quality standards, whilst working with the Production Supply Chain Manager to manage upcoming projects and new work requirements. Communicate with the Production Supply Chain Manager on Management Information pertaining to the Warehouse operation and manage issues to resolution.

Job Context

Based at Alton Production Facility.  On occasion may be required to work at alternative site locations.



Good Academic background

Experience & Knowledge:


At least 2 years’ experience Supervising a team at Supervisor level or above

Experience in working in a Production environment

Understanding of the Warehouse business

Understanding of Goods Inward Processes with regard to QC controls (SPC / PPM…)

Ability to create Management Reports and present to Senior Management

Understanding of Health and Safety within a Warehouse environment

Understanding of LEAN manufacturing methodologies


Operations Management role within Warehouse sector

KEY Accountabilities

1. Main duties

  • Manage the day to day running of the Warehouse area.
  • Communicate Management Information to Production Supply Chain Manager
  • Work with Internal Department Heads to streamline the operation
  • Co Ordinate any upcoming work/projects from a Warehouse perspective
  • Document and evidence continuous improvement areas within the warehouse area, including benefits, risks, timescales for implementation
  • Liaise with CS and Production Manager on queries regarding warehouse activities and customer queries
  • Co Ordinate the forecasting and planning application within the warehouse areas
  • Ensure all tools and consumables are available for warehouses to operate effectively
  • Ensure no Health and Safety risks are evident within the warehouse areas.
  • Ensure security of contents within the warehouse is maintained
  • Maintain the standards required in terms of H&S and regulatory bodies.
  • Carry out additional tasks that Production Supply Chain Manager may set from time to time, which fall within the capabilities of the Warehouse Co Ordinator role.
  • Provide Management Information Reporting to Production Supply Chain Manager
  • Any other duties as may reasonably be requested.
