The Role

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to cover maternity leave for a current employee. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our finance team during this period. If you have a strong background in accounting, attention to detail, and excellent organizational skills, we encourage you to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for accurate and timely invoicing to customers.
  • Credit control management.
  • Perform daily bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy. Updating cash reports, aged debtors, and bi-weekly commentaries.
  • Responsible for all revenue analysis.
  • Assisting in month-end accounts. This includes preparing accrued and deferred income, reconciliation of invoices, reviewing the allocation of revenue and receipts. Also, assist in preparing other related journal entries.
  • Supporting budget and forecast process.
  • Assist with audit requests.
  • Business partnering with selected business units, preparation of variance analysis and commentaries.
  • Provide cover for other members of the Finance team as required.
  • Handle purchase ledger duties, including invoice processing, payments, and supplier reconciliations.
  • Prepare all entities’ payroll reconciliation and overseeing payroll providers.

Job requirements

Requirements

  • Applicants must be either in the process of attaining an accounting qualification such as ACCA or CIMA, already have completed AAT qualification with knowledge of VAT and revenue or be qualified by experience.
  • At least 3 years experience in a similar role.
  • Prior experience in stock accounting would be an advantage.
  • A can-do attitude, not afraid to get their hands dirty to help the team and find solutions.
  • Intermediate skill in all Microsoft Applications especially Excel.
  • Comfortable with analysing big data.
  • System agnostic, comfortable adapting and using multiple systems.
  • Knowledge and basic user of Power BI and Power Query.
  • Attention to detail, accuracy and quality.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
